Zara coat | French Connection knit & Reebok trainers via Bank* | Missguided PVC skirt | Rianna Phillips Clutch*
Day two was a LONG day. I left the house at
10 and started the day with Holly Fulton at Somerset House. This collection is
definitely in my top 5 from LFW, I’m a sucker for prints and her signature
deco-style and floral printed pieces were beautifully done across a muted
palette of pastel pinks blues and greys, sophisticated fun.
For day two I wore some bright and bold pieces from Bank, this French Connection jumper is seriously my new favourite thing in the world. I teamed with a pvc mini, my mono Zara coat and beautiful new clutch from Rianna Phillips. It's from the 'New Age Native' collection and will be available from her e-boutique soon. I had so many compliments on it and I love the personalised initialling, huge thank you to Rianna for sorting me out. She's also been nominated for the Vogue X Muuse Young Vision Award for accecories, make sure you head over to her site & give her a vote!
In between shows I headed to the Edeline
Lee presentation in the East Wing, greeted with a G&T and sounds of a DJ
set by the Citizens I was intrigued to see what was in store. The colour themes
were mainly black, white and cobalt blue- something I’m loving seeing all over
the catwalks this season- and it made for a wonderfully exquisite combination.
I’m also super tempted to try it in my eyebrows like the models in this
presentation although I’m not sure I’ll pull it off in quite the same way.
Next up was John Rocha who showcased a
beautifully romantic collection for AW14. Inspired by the dusk and dark light
of Icelandic skies, the collection was a wash of midnight greens and shadowy
garnets across velvets, tweeds and leathers and his signature chiffon and
organza, balancing a symmetry between the tender and the strong.
For the rest of the day I headed up to
fashion scout for *deep breath* Zeynep Katral, Bernard Chandran, Kiev Fashion
Days, Belle Suavage and Hema Kaul. You could say I was a little shattered. I
was really impressed by some of these designers, particularly Bernard Chandran
with his risqué clear panneled leather pieces. I also spotted Suzy Menkes
opposite me for a couple for his show and in Kiev Fashion Days- pretty
impressed with my photo of the ‘Fashion Circus’ tee with her in the background!
I also adored the caged pieces from Paskal during the show, needing that black
dress in my life!
To finish I headed off to Sorapol with a
couple of course mates, it was being held in Lincoln’s Inn Fields and the Royal
College of Surgeons venue was really cool, the wait however was not. The Invite
said doors open 7:45, we arrived at 7:15 to get good seats but didn’t actually
get let in until 8:30 and the show didn’t start until 9, absolute chaos. Having
said that I thought the collection was boldly brilliant. There were some
incredibly detailed textures and embellishments featuring crocadile and
stingray skins and Preciosa cut crystal that even made a couple of pieces
border on couture standard, I swear I’ve never seen a dress sparkle quite like
it.
I’ve had a quieter day today -thank god- so
stay tuned to hear all about day 3 tomorrow!
