Day two in my new favourite city was even better than the first. I think the beautiful Parisian sun had a little something to do with it. We started the day off with YDE in their showroom to preview the AW14 collection. I can’t go into too much detail before their show on Wednesday but what I will say is that anyone going is in for a real treat. Hands down one of my favourite collections I’ve seen this season. It was so lovely to meet the designer Ole and get up close and personal with his beautiful clothes. He even let me try on a couple of pieces, which was an incredible moment in itself! There’ll be more on that later on this week.
Next up was the Martin Grant presentation, which was held in a beautiful, building in amongst where all the showrooms are in Paris. We had such fun wandering through the beautiful streets in St. Paul, it was sunny which seemed to make everything even more pretty. We found an amazing little brunch spot too, La Petite Place – I’d definitely recommend if you’re in the area, plus the interiors are insanely cool!
Again I’ll be doing a full post on the Marin Grant presentation, but the collection was based around items that every woman needs in her wardrobe. Be it a staple coat, shift dress, jumpsuit or stunning full pink skirt. They had a gorgeous model in the showroom and we had lots of fun playing dress up with her, what’s also great is that the majority of the pieces you can mix and match, a capsuale wardrobe collection. But I cant forget the shoes, Martin Grant’s prints and fabrics x Christian Louboutin? Don’t even get me started, shoe heaven.
Whilst wandering back to the metro I realized the fashion scout showroom was nearby so we stopped in there for a little look around, it was really nice to see the garments up close from shows I’d seen in London and take a peek at the ones I’d missed. We got to meet designer Hellen Van Rees and she talked us through her beautiful collection, I’m always impressed with her designs and original fabric-making process.
For the rest of the day we were free to explore Paris, next stop was the Lourve where we had a gorgeous glass of mulled wine looking over the gallery in the onsite café, then headed up to the Place Vendome for photos in the beautiful courtyard area. Everywhere you go in Paris there seems to be some sort of stunning building or landmark on every corner, half of these incredible places we stumbled upon by accident.
We went to Trocadero earlier on in the day and loved it so much we came back for dinner at Restaurant Trocadero, which overlooked the Eiffel Tower just perfectly. We went out at 10 so managed to get a window seat and enjoyed the view over dinner. I had a salmon burger with black olive tapenade and Lizzy had a seafood salad - both equally delicious! As we were leaving the Eiffel Tower started doing the most magical sparkling thing (I put a video on my insta), perfect end to our last evening in Paris.
