Vogue Festival 2014

. April 20, 2014 .

I'm wearing: Topshop jacket | American Apparel crop | Whistles slip ons | Zara skirt & bag

I spent my last day in London at The Vogue Festival before travelling back to Bristol for the easter break, and what a great last day in London it was (I say last day.. only for 3 weeks). I went along bright and early on the saturday morning with my flatmate Iole, we had tickets for the 'Personal Style and Do You Have It' talk with the amazing Alexa Chung, Amanda Harlech and Lucinda Chambers. I wont go into all the details as you can watch the full talk on Vogue here, in short it was an incredibly inspiring, humorous hour filled with insightful tips from some of the most stylish ladies in the industry.
For the rest of the morning we hopped around all the little stations set up for the festival day, including walking the Harrods live catwalk (SO nerve-wracking), messing about in the Burberry photo-booth and visiting the Vogue shop where I could have easily drained my bank account, but stuck with a Vogue pencil instead. Here's where our luck struck- an ever so lovely Vogue team member approached us with a pair of spare tickets to the next talk, 'The Power of Two In Fashion.'
Again you can watch the entire talk here on Vogue's website, with the boys from Proenza Schouler, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez with Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier from Marc Jacobs. This talk I found so interesting, finding out what goes on behind the scenes of international designer houses and what it's like working together in that environment. We were so grateful for the extra tickets, it made the day extra special and I spent my journey back to Bristol feeling super inspired by these industry greats. I'll be heading back there next year for sure and would recommend it to anyone looking to get into or even just interested in the fashion industry.
