This season is quickly becoming one of my favourite London Fashion Weeks. I’ve been lucky enough to see some incredible shows and be around some lovely people, and day 3 hasn’t even started yet. Click below to see what I got up to!

Day 1 was crazy. I
left the house at 7:30 with Lolli, ready to head down to the Company, Office
and Ugg breakfast. Armed with Nero vanilla lattes we made our way down to the
strand and up to the Radio Rooftop Bar in the Me Hotel. I’ve been there a few
times now but nothing quite prepares you for the panoramic view, it looks right
over Somerset House too – very apt. After fuelling up on croissants and
coffees, we were treated to a talk on shoe trends from Company editor Victoria,
Ugg ambassador Bip Ling and head of design at Office Melanie Cohen. Not a lot
of better ways to kick of LFW in my opinion!
I’ll be writing about
my favourite shows in full, but I’ll do a little round up each day. First show
of the day was Bora Asku, who showcased the dreamiest pieces to the most
entrancing melodies that had me totally captivated. Hopelessly romantic, the
collection featured a variety of embroidery, crotchet and fluid silk textures
across a pallet of whites and ballerina hues contrasted with soft cobalt and
lilac blues. A delicate yet bold collection for SS15.
After Bora I hot
footed it down to the Institute of Contemporary Arts to grab a quick glance at
Parisian designer Faustine Stienmetz’s presentation. The garments were
incredibly crafted with traditional artisanal techniques, every fabric
hand-woven in their East London Studio,
taking inspiration from couture houses and how they present their products.
Next up was probably
my favourite show of the day, Daks. I was very kindly given an unexpected front
row seat, which gave me a beautiful view of the collection and it’s gorgeous
setting in the Royal Opera House. Romantic ruffles of gauze and feathers were
juxtaposed with Tasmanian wool and crisp cotton made for a feminine and sensual
collection. Daks certainly know how to do elegance.
Jean Pierre Braganza
followed at Somerset House. I
wasn’t as impressed with this as I was by the AW14 collection, but I found the
exploration of architectural design interesting. Playing on the ‘peaceful equilibrium’ between the natural
and urban worlds, delicate lace, silks and velvets reference harder metallic
materials.
Gyunel was my last
show of the day, held in the stunning Bloomsbury room of Victoria House. Upon
arrival I grabbed a severely-needed cocktail at the drinks reception and
spotted Hannah then got to meet one
of my favourite bloggers, Rosie from the
Londoner. After drinks we were
shown to our seats on the front row, providing perfect viewing for the ‘Nomadic
Scorpion’ collection. A story of a ‘nomadic traveller’ Gyunel showcased
serpentine gowns with sculpted separates across a dry palette of titan orange
and brittle greens. An athletic energy, creating a collection that is both relaxed
and confident. An incredible end to my first day of shows.
But of course, they
day isn’t truly over until you’ve had a bottle of prossecco or two with the
best blogging babes for a Friday night full of laughter and story telling of
the day’s events.
Day one you were good to me, very good indeed. Stay tuned for day 2 tomorrow!
