A Personal Note, Here Goes..

. November 05, 2014 .

Accompanying this outfit from Paris is a probably the most personal post I've written to date. Granted, it's nothing exciting, but I needed to get it out of my system, and I owe it to my absence on here to give you a little explanation.

Hello friends. I hate to start off on a somewhat somber note, but it'd be odd for me to jump back into blogging full speed without a little explanation of my absence. I've never really touched on personal issues on here before, but it'd affected my presence on here, so here goes. This passed month blogging has taken a back seat for me, and probably at the worst time considering all of the fashion week content I had planned to show you guys. My heart hasn't been in it, and when the pressure built up I got into the bad habit of closing the laptop and hiding from my responsibilities rather than just facing up to it and taking each bit as it comes.

Same goes for university work, I'd love to be able to tell you that I've been dedicating time to that instead, but in reality I've let anxiety get the better of me, let everything pile up and hidden away in my room or in the corner of my local.  Teamed with some other personal issues, before I knew it I was walking out of lectures in fear of being asked how my work was going, taking no blog photos and letting my schedule, quite frankly, go to shit. But before attempting to get myself out of this rut, I had to take a step back and realise all of this evasion, procrastination and probably a little too much wine consumption wasn't great for me, but it was okay. Sometimes we just need to what we need to do to get certain feelings out of our system. So thats what I did.

And, with deadlines approaching, an endless to-do list and an inbox of 1,521 unread emails I'd say enough's enough. Time to get my shit together. Accepting I'd fallen behind, in everything, and making a proactive plan and just taking each day as it comes. Trying to do everything at once seems to be my downfall, so getting on with things little bit by little bit is the way forward.
My blog is my baby, my job and something I take neglecting seriously so I apologise for not giving it my usual 110%, and I apologise if I've bored you senseless, but I'm a young girl and I'm only human, and I'm sure there's a few of you that feel me. Haha.

On another note, I hope you enjoy this outfit from Paris Fashion Week. I absolutely adore these bank grid pieces and didn't originally plan to wear them together but the clashing of square prints was irresistible. With these awesome OTT shades by Le Specs and a pop of colour with my Jasper Conran  I was ready for one of my final shows. Big thanks to Andrea from Dreaming of Chanel for shooting these for me.

  2. I COMPLETELY understand you. It's actually so reassuring that I'm not the only blogger who "closes the laptop". Seriously, sometimes my motivation is on top and all I think is strategies, shooting schedules, post ideas etc, then on a different occasion I just don't even think about it and want to hide from the world and all my responsibilities. But yes, we are all human and it happens. I'm glad you are getting back into it - I still need a kick, ha!

  3. Excellent post, it is always difficult to address personal topics on a blog...we all need to take a step back at times and I am glad to hear you are ok. On another note, I love your style and you are beautiful. I love your blog and I have followed you with Bloglovin. If you ever get a chance to check out my blog I would be delighted, thanks :)

  5. Don't worry about being an '100%'blogger - we all need a little break from time to time. I hope everything falls back into place which I'm sure it will with time. xxx
