Somerset House

Strand

. October 06, 2015 .

London's so vast it's easy to forget the beautiful corners of it sometimes. The courtyard of Somerset House in particular is a really special little haven and quite the sun trap during this Indian summer we've been having...

It's typical - you're all geared up for autumn, with a wardrobe full of knitwear and triumphing at finding the perfect Autumn coat and out comes the bloody sunshine. The first of October was a stonking 20 degrees no less. So of course that means I was more than a little bit toasty when shooting this look - I just thank god this knit was sleeveless.

Occasionally I've come to Somerset House alone - either to people watch over a cappuccino, for an exhibition or to work on my laptop, but it's beautiful architecture never ceases to stun me. The vastness of an enormous open courtyard is so rare in central London, as I said, it's a real little haven. I decided to wander in with Lizzy after visiting the Louis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition (also on Strand) after missing out on it's marvellousness during the past London Fashion Week. We happily spent an hour, or even two, basking in the sun on the cobbles before making ample use of the gorgeous back drop for a little outfit shoot.

I hope you enjoy these photo's and one of my favourite autumn looks so far this season - shop the outfit below.
