Nothing gets me better geared up and excited for a trip than a bit of holiday shopping. Before Mykonos, for instance, so much excitement stemmed from what I'd be wearing in the beautiful white-washed Greek island. Blue and white feminine pieces were top of the list – I mean who doesn't want to blend in with their surroundings when they're this pretty? And of course, no holiday wardrobe is complete without a killer colour-popping piece too. You'll know by now Dorothy Perkins has become my go-to for style staples, so I've teamed up with them on creating a the ultimate holiday wardrobe for Mykonos. From exploring the town in the day to partying into the early hours, these pieces saw me through the holiday perfectly, and what's more is that everything is so affordable too. Hope you enjoy this editorial as much as I enjoyed shooting it in beautiful Greece, I'd love to hear which look you love most!
Mykonos town is a plethora of gorgeous boutiques, market stalls and restaurants – you could honestly spend hours and hours getting lost in the hundreds of narrow streets. So, for a morning exploring the town I went for a laid-back Greek vibe with this pastel blue and cream duo. This gorgeous flare-sleeve blouse features beautiful embroidered detail and was loose enough to keep me cool as the temperatures started to rise around midday. I paired it with this versatile ivory skirt, a light comfortable piece that's perfect for exploring on holiday but still feminine, and of course I blended in with the town seamlessly.
As someone that usually shies away from bright hues, holidays are the perfect excuse for me to experiment with colour a little. I simply couldn’t resist this chilli-red cami dress the perfect hue against the contrasting white buildings in the town and against tanned skin. The silhouette is also really flattering. As a bit of a pair-shaped girl, cami dresses can often be too straight for me but this fit and flare style is perfect for my shape. Paired with these leather strappy sandals that went with pretty much everything in my suitcase, I was ready for sunset cocktails in Little Venice.
As much as I love strappy dresses and short skirts on holiday, covering up a little is sometimes essential too. Whether it's shielding some sunburn, or like me, you're visiting the Cyclades islands (which are known for being super windy) and fancy covering up a little in the evening, packing some cover-up pieces is a must. That being said, this shirt would also look great over a bikini on the beach and you could easily pair this skirt with a cami crop. For this look though, I loved pairing the white and grey tones together to echo the colours of the island. The skirt in particular is such a lovely quality and I love the leaf-detail take on lace.
Whilst these pieces are perfect for nailing holiday style, I know they'll see me right the way through the season too. You've already seen me style the stripe shirt here, I can see the blue blouse with some black skinny jeans and the red dress is definitely coming with me to a festival! As always, thanks for reading and I would love to hear what your holiday wardrobe staples are below.
