I don’t go vintage shopping anywhere near as much as I should. I occasionally tend to stumble upon the odd find in a market or charity shop but there’s nothing like the thrill of finding an absolute one-of-a-kind treasure. So, after discovering this perfect-fit vintage suede trench coat in a little charity shop in Marlborough, I’m making it my mission to make vintage-hunting a more frequent ritual.
Today, I'm writing this from New York and we're about to spend the day in Brooklyn which is renowned for its vintage finds. I'm hoping to hunt down a couple of shops and come back with a special souvenir or two! Just don't ask me how on earth I'll fit them back in my case.
For this look, I paired my new vintage find with some simple basics for a day of shopping in the old city of Bath. These new side-stripe jeans by DP are my new denim favourites – they're super flattering and I love the cropped straight fit. I wore a basic wrap body underneath to show off the full silhouette of the jeans and slipped on my beloved Stan Smith's, which I have a brand new appreciation for – they've been my saviours on this NYC trip.
Whilst I'd love it if you could all find a similar trench on your vintage shopping trips, I understand it can be a bit hit and miss when you're looking for something specific. Of course, vintage isn't everyone's thing either so I've found a couple of similar styles online here and here.
Shop the look: Vintage trench, similar here and here, Topshop wrap body, Dorothy Perkins denim, Adidas Stan Smiths, Radley backpack, Missoma horn necklace.
