Now if there's one thing I love indulging in most this time of year, it's enjoying a festive drink with friends and family. Not that I need an excuse to enjoy a cocktail or two, but it just feels that little bit more special this time of year – getting cosy indoors with candles burning and enjoying some festive treats with your nearest and dearest.
Whether I'm having a cosy night in, or getting glammed up for a night out during party season, I love to enjoy an evening time drink come the weekend. Baileys has always been my favourite festive tipple and it's been something the ladies in my family always like to enjoy at this time of year. I think it was my nan who gave me my first sip in my mug of hot chocolate and it's been a treat I've indulged in every Christmas since.
Now I'm a bit older though and my tastes are slightly more sophisticated, most Friday nights you'll catch me sipping an espresso martini (those who watch my Instagram and Snapchat stories can heavily vouch for this, I'm addicted!) and now it's December, perhaps a Baileys on the rocks. So, you can imagine my delight when Baileys got in touch to see if I'd like to create some festive cocktails to celebrate their new partnership with Pact coffee, who have created a bespoke blend to compliment the drink.
I was of course even more excited to hear one of the serves was a twist on my all time favourite cocktail and I have to say, the Baileys Flat White Martini is quite the game changer! Combining the citrus acidity profile of the bespoke coffee blend with the sweet creaminess of Baileys is a delicious drink match made in heaven. Whilst the Flat White Martini had to be my fave, the Baileys Affogato Twist was such an incredible treat too and would be a perfect indulgent dessert idea for a Christmas dinner party.
I had so much fun creating these drinks with a couple of my closest friends last Sunday afternoon whilst we enjoyed some girl time and festive treats. Whilst the only time I usually enjoy cocktails is at a bar, you forget how much fun (and satisfying) making your own can be. Though be warned, these are super moreish! With ingredients on tap, you can be assured these drinks will see you through whole evening and you'll certainly be the hostess with the mostest.
Here's the recipes for each – they were both actually surprisingly so easy to make. I even impressed myself with figuring out how to use a bailetti for the first time! And honestly I've never had coffee at home that tasted so damn good. I'd love to hear which is your favourite and if you'll be trying one of these out yourself this Christmas.
