Some days, getting dressed up and slipping into that new dress or pair of heels is my favourite thing. Others, I literally want to roll out of the front door in my pj's and slippers. I like to think there's a happy medium here somewhere, but the running theme for me now is comfort and style – especially for a busy day of meetings and events in London. So if you feel like having a lazy outfit day (which of course we all do RN, Jan blues etc...), here's some of my top tips on how to be comfy AF but still super stylish.
HAVE FUN WITH YOUR OUTERWEAR
This one's easy. It's pretty hard to find an 'uncomfortable' coat, but there are definitely days I'd rather be cosy in a soft jacket rather than buttoned up in a fitted trench coat. This embroidered denim jacket by Glamorous is perfect, the fleecy lining is oh-so-warm, the denim is supple and there's a whole party going on in the back. Nailing the embroidery trend a jacket like this adds a fun dimension to the full outfit, you could even DIY like I did at the glamorous press day (hey Gucci snake)! Another idea could be trying the puffa jacket in a bright colour – bang on trend yet super cosy.
PLAY WITH PRINTS
The power of a print in amongst the laziest of outfits is pretty amazing. Something super comfortable like a cotton shirt or jersey tee can instantly be elevated with the use of a fun print. I opted for this oversized star-print one from Boohoo. Tucked in or out of a comfy pair of jeggings or skinny jeans it's an easy to wear piece that's still eye-catching and effortlessly cool. Also try: polka dot or animal print shirts.
FLATFORM IT
I've a new found love for flatforms since discovering these Public Desire patent ones that are so very Stella McCartney. I initially worried I'd feel like I'm walking on stilts, but they're actually super comfy and easily saw me through a full day of running between meetings in London. Flatforms are such a fun way to elevate regular 'flats' and designer-inspired ones like these will make you look every bit a part of the fash-pack.
